All Friends from the Farmington-Scipio Region of New York Yearly Meeting are invited to Spring Gathering, a joyful weekend of learning, reflection and community on the shores of beautiful Seneca Lake. Spring Gathering offers a range of workshops on a variety of subjects, activities for all ages. Worship, singing, and time for eating and relaxing with Friends.

Native American leaders and children have been invited to help lead the young Friends program this year. There will be plenty of opportunities for mutual sharing and learning.

Highlights from the Schedule

Friday

Registration and lodging check-in begins at 4:30pm. Dinner will be served between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM, followed by evening community-building activities.

[Note:  NYYM RAP (Responsible Adult Presence) workshop takes place 9:30 AM–4:00 PM. More information at the bottom of this page.]

Saturday

Instead of a plenary speaker, we will gather this morning for an extended opportunity to reflect on the ways we are caring for the Earth. There will be a time of worshipful reflection and an extended time for sharing with and learning from one another.

In the afternoon, there will be two workshop periods. Many workshops will be on various aspects of Earthcare, but there will be other topics, too. And free time!

In the evening we will hear from our young Friends. Folk dancing will follow.

Sunday

Bible Study, Hymn-singing, Meeting for Worship, and Business Meeting.

Please note that Long Point Camp is a smoke-free campus and that pets are prohibited. Although we will be right on the lake, no swimming is allowed. Bikes are allowed and Friends are invited to enjoy biking, but bring your own.

Parents/sponsors are responsible for their children when the children are not participating in their program. This includes break times, meal times, transition times in the program, and overnight. Parents/sponsors are responsible for coordinating with the youth program workers in order to maintain clarity regarding responsibility for our children. Anyone under 18 attending with a sponsor and not a parent needs to fill out and submit a sponsor form. This form must be signed by a parent.
