WAR DOESN'T DETERMINE WHO'S RIGHT,
ONLY WHO'S LEFT
Our nation appears to be headed toward war on Iraq, and toward protracted, world-wide, infinitely destructive war. We are deeply troubled by our government's dangerous and misdirected action. U.S. "go it alone" military action does not address the root causes of violence.
We urge our government to abandon our planned invasion of Iraq. We believe there is a better way. It would entail:
- Supporting international treaties and justice systems to pursue and
prosecute terrorists
- Alleviating global poverty
- Limiting our weapons as we call upon others to do the same
- Banning the sale and transfer of weapons to zones of conflict
- Reducing our dependence on oil through conservation and sustainable
energy technologies
- Promoting real dialogue and cooperation at home and abroad
Please join us in urging our Congressional representatives to pursue peaceful alternatives to war.
