Fifteenth Street Meeting Letter to Muslims

In this distressing time, when we have been so forcefully reminded of our Creator’s power to take from us peace, health, safety and even life itself when we least expect it, our hearts go out to all that suffer. Mindful that there is particular distress now in the Muslim community in the United States, we write to you in loving concern for your well-being, both as individual men and women and as a people of God. We are painfully aware that too many in this country are ignorant of the teachings of Islam, and hope that these present circumstances will serve to promote more mutual understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims.

May the only one God, whom both you and we worship, perfect us all in our faith.
