The New Brunswick (NJ) Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends:

“The New Brunswick Friends Meeting (Quakers)”

Our meeting is a period for worship together through both expectant silence and spoken words. There is no professional clergy and no prearranged program. Each person who enters the meeting helps to determine the depth of our worship as a group.

We believe that the Spirit of God dwells in the hearts of all people. When we open the way and listen in contemplative silence, an inner light shines through us. Sitting quietly, each seeks to know at first hand the presence of the Spirit. If there is speaking, it comes sincerely from the depth of life and of experience. Such a meeting is a high venture of faith and it is to share in this venture that we invite you.

Friends do not have any creedal statement. The one thing that holds Friends groups together is that they all believe there is within every human being, a power which may be called "that of God," "the inner light," or "the Christ within" which can direct us in all of life.
