Beyond Diversity 101™
Co-Led by Niyonu D. Spann, Joe Moore, & Tonya McClary
March 21–26, 2010
Pendle Hill in Wallingford, PA
Diversity training has traditionally been based in models driven by guilt and blame. We believe that if the goal is to become a more whole society, such trainings are highly ineffective. We need to move beyond the vicious cycles that are embedded in these old “Diversity101” models. We can, in fact, abolish systematic discrimination and create wholeness within and without. It requires recognizing, taking responsibility, and shifting mindsets while continually building and utilizing effective skills. It also takes HEARTWORK!
- Increase your understanding of the “Dynamics of Difference and Power”
- Move beyond the “Oppressor/Victim Framework”
- Get un-stuck as a facilitator/change agent
- Strengthen the relationship between your spiritual life, your physical well-being and your work toward social justice
- Learn a model for transformation—real change within, real change without
