Junior Yearly Meeting Senior High Epistle

In addition to the normal fun, games, and worship that the senior high enjoys together each year, this year, with the help and guidance of Carolyn Cooley, we shared the experience of creating a performance with giant puppets that represented our hopes and fears. We began the process by brainstorming, visioning, and discussing our hopes and fears for the future. We split into five groups based on individual concerns. There was also a music group and a theater group. Throughout the week we collectively built, papier-mâchéd, sewed, and painted our puppets. The puppets we created represent the following themes:
  • The loss of self to a repetitive corporate lifestyle
  • The fear of total government control
  • Our hopes for the future
  • The battle between Good and Evil
  • A solution to the destruction of the environment
