We had a lot of fun at Beach Day. We went with the high schoolers and we each had our own buddy. Some of us even had two buddies! We went swimming and diving in the water. We made a lake in the sand together. Then the teenagers made a conveyor belt and baked each one of us as our favorite cookie.
We also had a special visitor from Bolivia named Ruben. Someone from our group made him an eagle necklace. He played instruments for us and we did a dance together.
We especially liked our visit with Original Play. Our whole group played on the mats together.
We heard lots of stories and liked the happy ending of I’m LIke You, You’re Like Me (a gift from the MCC Task Group on Racism to JYM). We also liked learning about George Fox through “Faith and Play” stories. We made special cards with beads on them called a “beaded fidget” to help us remember what we are doing in Meeting for Worship.
