Transition Working Group
The Transition Working Group (TWG) is the next step in the structural aspect of the renewal process for New York Yearly Meeting. The TWG was established in the following minute from NYYM Summer Sessions, Wednesday, July 28, 2004:
49. The Clerk introduced Thomas Martin, clerk of the Ad Hoc Committee on Committees, who reported on their work. Tom summarized the history of our corporate examination of our structure, and brought two minutes for our consideration.
- Lay down the Ad Hoc Committee on Committees.
- Establish a Transition Working Group to include the clerk of the Yearly Meeting, the assistant clerk, the general secretary, the four coordinating committee clerks or their chosen representatives from those coordinating committees, as well as two members of the Ad Hoc Committee on Committees, for continuity. The charge to this working group is to bring forward to Yearly Meeting, as led, minutes for changes in our committee structure, working from the 2004 recommendations of the Ad Hoc Committee on Committees. It is hoped that this working group can complete its work in three years or less
Our members are:
- Ernie Buscemi (TWG clerk), NYYM clerk
- Frederick Dettmer, clerk of Witness
- Herb Lape, Ad Hoc Committee on Committees
- Melanie-Claire Mallison, clerk of Nurture
- Tom Martin, Ad Hoc Committee on Committees
- Paula McClure, clerk of General Services
- Christopher Sammond, NYYM general secretary
- Deb Wood, clerk of Ministry & Counsel
